Highlighting Winston-Salems Nonprofits, One Organization at a Time!

Who is your go-to non-profit ?

By Jeffrey Willey Publisher Macaroni KID, Winston-Salem, NC August 4, 2022

Into the Wild provides substance abuse counseling and other therapeutic services to women in an outdoor behavioral healthcare setting. We have designed a 12 week program specifically aimed at women addicted to opioids currently receiving medication-assisted treatment. Women addicted to other substances needing additional support following inpatient treatment or for whom regular outpatient services are not enough are also welcome.
In our program you will:

  • Develop the esteem, insight, and tools necessary to take control of your life.
  • Learn to calm your mind and face your fears.
  • Increase your coping skills.
  • Heal in a safe supportive environment.
  • Step out, take risks and problem solve with experiential/adventure activities designed to challenge your perceived limitations.

We journey to a special place where we focus on the Four Elements: air, fire, water, and earth. We accept everyone where they are and then gently guide them towards new ways to breathe the air, bond around a campfire, move quietly through the water, and ground themselves to the earth. Our unique approach allows everyone to find the lost light within and, in so doing, to regain their misplaced selves.

We offer a feminine approach to recovery; addressing issues unique to women’s health and well-being.

Therapeutic Approaches:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Trauma-Informed Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • 12-Step Facilitation
