Highlighting Winston-Salem's Non-Profit Organizations One at a Time!

Who is your go to when donating Winston-Salem?

By Jeffrey Willey Publisher Macaroni KID Winston-Salem September 1, 2022

Are you someone who is looking to make a change in the world?  Do you see good deeds being done and want to do your part?  Maybe you have a personal attachment to a certain organization.  Whatever the case may be, non-profit companies depend on the support of outside public funding.  It is downright imperative to their survival.  As you plan your day, please take the time to make a plan to help.

There are so many ways that we can help in our community. Some non-profits are looking for supplies, while some simply need volunteers. Of course, there is the traditional financial donation that allows organizations to stay afloat. Not to mention, some of you are looking for tax breaks. Donating to a non-profit allows you to write that donation off.

Many non-profit organizations in and around the Winston-Salem area are looking for help from people in our community.  People like you!  At Macaroni KID Winston-Salem, we will be highlighting a different non-profit organization weekly nominated by our readers. If you have a non-profit organization you would like to nominate, please email us at mackidwinstonsalem@macaronikid.com.  All nominations must be made by a current subscriber of Macaroni KID Winston-Salem. This week, we recognize:

greeNest serves our most vulnerable neighbors with a compassionate bridge to housing needs. We provide gently used, donated furniture and housewares to individuals and families moving from crisis to sustainable housing. Our “showroom” is outfitted with large furniture, kitchen needs, bed and bath linens, and decorative items that have been donated by the community.   We partner with more than 90 community agencies to identify individuals and families who lack the resources to provide essential furnishings for their homes.  To donate click here!

greeNest loves to meet Winston-Salem's needs. With your partnership and love, greeNest  is working hard to furnish the homes of formerly homeless or housing insecure families and individuals as they transition to stable housing. This work could not be done without you!  Through individual contributions, grants, gifts, and love, we are able to build COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS that share the LOVE..

Hours of operation: Tuesday-Friday 10 am to 4 p.m. and every Saturday 9 a.m. to noon.

With so many ways to get involved, it hasn't been easier to give back to your community.  We also have sponsorship opportunities available for Home Sweet Home Run 2 on September 30, 2022.
